We are the data controller for the personal information described here. Planet Insulation is part of Soundstop.co.uk, and orders are processed and invoiced by Soundstop.
What we collect and why
Quote and contact requests. When you use a form on this site or email or call us, we collect the details you give us: typically your name, email address, phone number, delivery postcode and what you want a price for. We use these to prepare your quote, answer your question and, if you order, to arrange delivery and invoicing. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and how people find the site, including when the phone number or a quote button is clicked. This uses cookies and collects a pseudonymous identifier, approximate location and device information. We do not use it for advertising. You can block analytics cookies in your browser or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Server logs. Our web server records IP addresses and requested pages for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
Who we share it with
- Soundstop.co.uk, our sister company, which processes orders and invoices on our behalf.
- Manufacturers and distributors who deliver your goods, who receive only the details needed to deliver.
- Service providers that run our email, forms and website hosting. Form submissions are relayed by an automation service we host in the UK and delivered to our email, which is hosted by Zoho in the EU.
- Google, for analytics as described above.
We never sell your information and we do not send marketing emails unless you have asked for them.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept for up to two years so we can follow up and refer back to what was quoted. If you order, the records are kept for six years after the end of the financial year in which the order was placed, as required for tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email info@planetinsulation.co.uk or write to the address above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site sets only the cookies used by Google Analytics (names beginning _ga). No cookies are set for advertising, and the site works fully without them.
